Oh... I wish I could do that. I think using notepad in web developing needs an advanced skill because you can't do that if you don't know what to type in the notepad. I can't do that. I need something to help me developing a website and it is called CMS. LOL

I'm still using notepad and still prefer it.
Using notepad mean that you still never forgot the basic when you get to expert.
This is also theory of living.

If you want to edit HTML, it is better to use Word pad than Notepad. Because some lines code may get affected, especially end break.

No i wouldn't say this, only for php coding.
it would take much too long to code my site from scratch using notepad. Thank good for these website builders out there. I only use notepad to edit things, after the site/page has been created

Agree with this. Using notepad from scratch is very time consuming so what I do is use those website builder for putting everything in the site, then use notepad to edit.

No way!

You can't get the actual feeling of the site....

It's like playing chess in your mind...or smth. like this.

Of course...for some minor changes...notepad is the best...and of course not having to pay for a pro software...

I still like to use notepad to develop simple website, as I find it quite easy to write the HTML tag just by myself, I can have more controls over the codes. Also, I don't need to install another program in my computer. Even when I'm developing web applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, I always switch to the HTML section to write the HTML codes manually, instead of using the design mode to drag and drop.

I've heard from a friend that using NotePad++ is much better, as it will help to format the text.

Well sometime I still use notepad for my webdesign. For simple designs of course. Most of the time I rely on Dreamweaver or WYSIWYG based editors.

I am using Linux. So I use gedit, which is a text editor with highlighting, auto indent, etc. And for debug, I use web developer in Firefox and "Inspect Elements" in Chrome.

I don't think Dream Weaver or other similar software is useful for me. The code written manually is clear to read and easy to maintenance. So a good free text editor is enough.

Some coders really prefer Notepad than WYSIWYG softwares.
But using Dreamweaver or any WYSIWYG software is much easier and to use.

Well, you can do what you do on Wordpress on Notepad. You can also use the tags you know you are using on Wordpress.
