These are useful for the webmaster beginners, like me.

I am not sure what "doorway pages" are. Is it a welcome or blank page to click, say "Click here to visit", then only will redirect the visitors to the actual home page?

Dear kaka135
doorway page means the page which visitor first see other than home page.

well google has many ranking factors and i think it optimizes sites for specific locations too so the ranking factor may differ but not much.

I personally do not like "door pages", as it requires me to wait for the door page to finish loading, then click on another button then only I can access the main page. I find it's a bit wasting time, especially when you want to look for the information in the main page, but not enjoying the beautiful flash in the door page.

From what I can understand from your post, it is similar to a splash page on the site's homepage.
