I'm starting with 2 affiliate programs and a MLM. I have 3 sites to promote.
But how do I get more visitors to my sites?

I'm using twitter a bit and am now in several forums, what else can I do?

You can go to a related site and ask if they offer link exchanges.
Submit also all your articles on social bookmarking sites like Digg.

Use your signature in your profile CP try to use some traffic exchange sites they will also help you alot to bring visitors to your site

You can put your website link on your forum signature and also doing active posting is also good. People will see the link.

There are lots of ways to drive traffic.

But I do suggest you pick ONE program/website to promote.

Yes, you can provide answers to the questions asked at Yahoo answers. There will be source box below answer box. There you can put your link and it is certainly considered as backlinks.

Create the best content you can with the best products you can offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others. You can use tell-a-friend scripts to make it easy for users to recommend your site . If you have good content, other websites will come forward to link to you. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your niche area.

Excellent tip - viral marketing is amust, good content also. You can also hold some competition at your website. There are plenty of free ebooks with resell rights for this. Press release and article submission will help also. Post to forums related to your niche. PM me if you need SEO and traffic ebooks. I don't know if i am allowed to post download links here.

You really have to find a topic that interest you for your site, then you'll have ideas on coming out with the new content. It's actually the content that attract the visitors, otherwise the visitors will not feel like staying in the site. It's always said "Content is the king". Hence, pick a topic that you think you can write or interested in, then you can just write a lot about it.

You should first choose a good niche for your site through which you will promote your site, if your niche is interested enough and you promote it well then I am sure you will get tons of visitors. I do the same for my bollywood entertainment site.

Article submission and social bookmarking will help. You can write articles related to the theme of your website and include links on them and post them on article directories. Social bookmarking will bring traffic to your articles and then to your website.

I agree, content is the King so you should really have to give more importance on your content although there are a lot of things you need to do in order to promote your blog/site. It just like numbering from most important to least important and the content is really at the top to be very important.

To drive traffic to your site, you can try on using SEO and SMO if you are good. Else, suggest use PPC advertising. The advantage of the PPC advertising is fast and easy but it might cost you some money. SEO and SMO need to spend long time and require some knowledge but the cost is much lower or no cost compare to PPC advertising

One more advice would be to add Email a friend link to spread the word on products/brands/sites.Simple tell-a-friend widget will help site visitors to share your content with their friends without ever leaving your site.

This is really a good idea, it makes the visitors to share our blog easier, and it helps to bring more traffic to our blog if they like it. This is something I have not thought about before.

Also, I have heard the frequency of blog update is quite important too. If we only update our blog once a month, then the readers may forget to come back and visit our blog even though they like it. So, it's advisable to set a schedule to update our blog constantly, so whenever the readers come to our blog, they will get new article to read about.

But you need to be very active on a forum for it to become successful.
The best way to get traffic is through link exchange on high traffic sites and social bookmarking.
