Cat smiley in Skype?

My friend wrote to me something like " :((((( " and a grey cat showed up. I didn't pay attention at first but then it disappeared!! And we can't figure out how she did it.. How to make that cat smiley? I have surfed all the Internet (figuratively speaking) and haven't found the answer :(

You may, or may not, have ever been typing on Skype and seen your typing indicator (the writing pencil) turn into a grey kitty who sticks his paw out. If you have ever noticed this, you might be totally confused about what it is and even more confusing is trying to replicate it.

Here is the story of what that cat is and how it came into being.
That cat is what we called internally the "cat walking on keyboard" indicator. He is modelled after my cat Roley, who sadly died a few years ago. The Skype client displays him when it reads some "paw-like activity" walking across your keyboard. Those of you with cats can probably picture your cat strutting its stuff across your keyboard as you read this.
Yes it is quite possibly the coolest non-feature ever.

pretty much what you do is hold down a bunch of random buttons... It works on some of them and some it dont.. It works on my friends but not mine... IDK.... thats how you do it though

Hiya The scratching grey cat is an emoticon that comes about by holding down 3 letters at a time one after the other. It takes a little practice. I do it with the letters C A T press and hold them one after the other in quick succession, holding all 3 down at the end until the cat pops up in the conversation field. DO NOT HIT ENTER. Some days I can do it easily some days not. The cat stays in the text field for a few or until you DO hit enter, then disappears. I'm told there are others but have yet to see them. Have fun! . This is funny , I found the thread about the mysterious cat emoticon . The other day I was on skype and the cat appeared but then disappeared , the person I was chatting with , her cat was actually walking on the keyboard , so it really was the cat that did it , we had no idea what caused it at the time she only said her cat was walking , anyway I am glad I found this thread and I will try to duplicate the cat magic hehehe
