LCD have better resolution, irritates less the user's eyes, uses less energy either in use or stand-by, is smaller and much lighter. Also design wise a LCD monitor is much better right? Slim and sexy. CRT will probably have their production ceased soon as they're becoming obsolete and most of costumers prefer LCD, something we can see on this thread already
And CRT, well it is becoming obsolete already.. But there are a lot who are still using here in our area because it is cheaper than LCD monitors..

Yeah, the CRT is still, to some extent, alive and kicking... Although quickly becoming totally obsolete, but one can nowadays get some big CRT screens in top-notch condition for practically free. So for someone looking for a screen with an extremely tight budget, a free monitor would be a boon. Don't know about the rest of the world, but in my country it's not uncommon to see "good" CRT screens in flea markets or such, sometimes even for free. I personally wouldn't have any need for them, but someone might find the opportunity a blessing.

LCD screens also tend to produce less eye fatigue to the user. The constant light barrage and scan lines of a CRT tube tend to cause strain on heavy computer users. The lower intensity of the LCD monitors coupled with their constant screen display of pixels being on or off produces less fatigue for the user. The primary advantage that CRT monitors held over LCDs was their color rendering. The contrast ratios and depths of colors displayed were much greater with CRT monitors than LCDs. Generally speaking, i prefer LCDS.
