How to stop spam in Wordpress

Any idea about good tools or plugin to stop spam in wordpress?

hi there. i think there is a built-in tool in wordpress. it's askimet. just enable it and it can filter out spam.

wordpress do have anit-spammer plug-in. You can try to look for that.
By the way, how to get spammer to come to your website?

Spammer are everywhere.
Mt blog is full of comment spammer too,
but luckily Wordpress have plugin call Akismet,
which filter all spam comment.
I getting around 5 spam comment each days.

YA askimet is a good plugin against the spammers. Try it. It will automatically check for the spam like comments.

you can use any wordpress plugin that able to filter any spam comment to your blog.

Try askimat spam filter. It is a very famous wordpress plugin. You need wordpress API key to run askimat plugin. Most probably.... It ships with wordpress installation.

Ya you need a API key to do that and you can find it in your profile account at wordpress.com. Thats how i found it. At first i was confused for where it was but now its done.

I will try out the akismet plugin, as my wordpress blog gets many spam comments every day, and I have no idea why I am getting them, as mine is a very new blog. I have to keep clicking on "spam" on the comments, and it really irritates me, as it takes quite long time to load the comment moderation page.

akismet is the best i think.there are also some other such plugins.you can do a search.
but there is also another way which you do not need any plugin,that is closing the comment of all the posts.

Yeah, wordpress has akismet which would help you to filter spams and kill the spams. I had a wordpress blog back then and it is free of spam because of the akismet

I do agree with you that Akismet is as effective plugin when it comes filter spam comments. I've receive lots of spam comment daily in my wordpress blog and those spam were effectively filtered by Akismet.

nothing better than akismet dude....it is an inbuilt tool and comes default activated with WordPress....i deactivated it for few days and it was a big headache clearing the spams....so i installed it and it's running great
